DEMO, PERMITS AND MORE

TIME TO SAY GOODBYE

With the arrival of demo permits it is time to say goodbye to this war time classic. After asbestos abatement, utilities to the property are shut off and it is safe to knock down this little yellow house.

Kimberley Homes takes care of the process from start to finish, which includes demolition of any current structures, and clearing the lot. Once we receive our building permits from the city of Kelowna, we prep the land for excavation. And once DCC’s and building permits are issued from the city, construction can officially start. Stake out happens first, where the lot is marked up so our excavator knows where to dig. Then we put a hole in the ground!

MEET THE KIMBERLEY EXPERTS

Once we stake out the lot, our Client Concierge schedules the Construction Orientation meeting with the most important members of the team – our Clients!

The Orientation meeting helps to transition our Homeowners from their Sales expert, to their Office & Construction Experts, who will be with them from now until Possession Day.

  • Kimberley Homes’ Client Concierge is in constant communication with the clients throughout the build process
  • Kimberley Homes’ Project Manager supervises the build and trades to ensure the home is being constructed to Kimberley’s high standards
  • Kimberley Homes’ Vice President of Construction Experience

Together, the clients and their Kimberley Experts review the plans and building specifications, and discuss the process for documenting changes clients want to make down the road. We outline all of the next steps for our clients, and they leave the meeting with a clear understanding of who is doing what by when.

WHAT COMES NEXT?

Next up for our clients will finalize their exterior colour selections and purchase appliances. Did you know that in a new build the earlier appliances are purchased, the better? Last in, first selected. This ensures that any framing or cabinet changes required to accommodate the client’s selections are finalized early in the process.

Stay tuned as foundation is poured and the bones of the home start to take shape!
